Modern Art


Modern Art is refered to as art that was created by throwing the traditional styles of the past aside and experimenting with new styles and materials. A style of modern art is Abstract Art. Jackson Pollock was a well known abstract artist.

Post-Impressionism

Post-Impressionism is the style of art the followed Impressionism. Artist such as Vincent Van Gogh leaned towards a more spiritual and expressive approach. In doing so, they added emotion and symbolic meaning to their art. Their work usually were done with expressive brushstrokes and bold and unrealistic colors.

Impressionism


Impressionist art is a style in which the artist captures the image of a particular setting or object as someone would see it with a quick glance. The colors are very bright and vibrant. The images are very detailed and the color is bold. Some of the greatest impressionist artists were Camille Pissaro, Edgar Degas Berthe Morisot, Alfred Sisley, Claude Monet, Pierre Auguste Renoir and Edouard Manet.
