Romanticism, Neoclassicism, and Realism

Romanticism is commonly misintrepeted as artwork the involves love and subjects that are romantic. In actuality it is an international artistic and philosophical movement that changed the ways in which people thought about themselves and about their world.

Neoclassicism was a widespread and influential movement in painting and the other visual arts that began in the 1700's. In painting it took the form of an emphasis on linear design in the depiction of classical themes and subject matter.

Realism is a work of art that depicts the actual true events unfolding in the presense of the viewer. it does not rely on past paintings. it is all about the present and what is happening at this very second
